In recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in the value placed on design with regards to cell phones and similar devices.
When it comes to color coating, one of the more difficult designs to produce is the gradation effect. Here at Shimashin Seiko, by using automated machinery (robots), we have effectively accomplished a gradation color coating.

The Re-Vo Coating System

Thin film deposition and plating have become increasingly popular within the design industry, especially for cell phones and the like. However, using these designs in mass production brings in the problems of cost and yield.

The Re-Vo Coating System
To explain simply, we have created a brand new system which enables us to color coat using a thin film deposit plating. The biggest merit with this system is that it is compatible with current color coating jigs that are in use now. Furthermore, the production cost is much lower compared with the methods previously used for thin film deposition and plating coatings.

Environmentally Friendly Model Water based color coating

In recent years environmental issues have rapidly become a major social issue. From now onwards the regulation, management and reduction of CO2 and VOC’s as well as the protection and conservation of the earth will be of a major emphasis.
The undercoat we use now, a TX free solvent paint, has greatly reduced harmful emissions by 0~2% more than other solvents allowed under PRTR regulations until now. Furthermore, the UV coating that we use is completely water based and only water is used for dilution.

3D Pattern Coating Wave tone

One example of the possibilities with this color coating is the ripple effect which creates an undulating three dimensional design.

Soft Touch Coating

When used to coat products this soft touch coating provides a pleasant rubbery texture.

Varying Color Coating

The color of this coating varies depending on the angle and direction from which it is viewed. This coating exudes a sense of high class with its varying colors.

Self Restoring Coating

Usually, when a coating is scratched, that scratch remains. However, our self restoring coating has the property of self rejuvenation. When we applied scratch resistance tests using pencils, the coating had the ability to self restore up to the use of a 4H pencil.

Finger Print Resistant UV Coating

When it comes to product design, especially with cell phones, the use of high gloss is increasing. With products that are in frequent contact with people’s hands the aesthetic problem of remaining fingerprints becomes apparent, especially when they cannot be easily removed by wiping.
We have overcome these problems by developing a paint that is highly finger print resistant and any fingerprints that do happen to stick can be easily wiped off.
Furthermore, this coating has passed all adhesive tests including general, warm water and full submersion testing.
